Maîtres du Temps offered Andreas Stehler and Kari Voutilainen the opportunity to work together. The watch which was the result of this fruitful collaboration and will be described in more detail below.
Maîtres du Temps is a relatively new American owned watch brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds which had the idea to pair up two independent watchmakers or masters to create a new watch together. Each watch was to open a new chapter in watchmaking. The first watch, called Chapter One was created by Peter Speake-Marin and Christophe Claret, Chapter Two by Peter Speake-Marin and Daniel Roth and Chapter Three by Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler.
According to Maîtres du Temps, “widely-respected independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen developed Chapter Three Reveal’s complete movement architecture, designed the bridges and plates, specified the decoration, and was responsible for the superlative finishing of the movement, the first original calibre he has developed for another brand. Highly-acclaimed watchmaker/constructor Andreas Strehler developed Chapter Three Reveal’s technical interface between movement, complication and case, including the ingenious ‘reveal’ opening/closing mechanism, in addition to devising innovative production methods and technical solutions. A pusher set into the crown lowers and hides two hidden panels in the dial to reveal a second-time-zone indicator and a day/night indicator, both displayed on Maîtres du Temps’ signature rollers.”
